San Miguel, Bulacan – February 23, 2026 — The SARAI CeNTRO Central Luzon Team participated in the regular session of the Sangguniang Bayan of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of San Miguel on February 23 to discuss a proposed partnership for the implementation of Project SARAI in the municipality.

During the session, Engr. Bryan M. Baltazar, SARAI CeNTRO Alternate Focal Person, presented an overview of Project SARAI (Smarter Approaches to Reinvigorate Agriculture as an Industry in the Philippines), highlighting its key components, including climate and weather advisory services, crop monitoring, and decision-support tools designed to enhance agricultural productivity and resilience. The initiative aims to empower local farmers and agricultural stakeholders through science-based information and innovative technologies.

Members of the Sangguniang Bayan expressed their interest in collaborating with the SARAI CeNTRO Team to strengthen the municipality’s agricultural programs. Discussions were made to clarify the responsibilities of the LGU, particularly regarding installation, maintenance, security, manpower, and budget for the project. The Local Government Unit also requested slight revisions to the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), which were duly noted by the SARAI CeNTRO Team.

The engagement marks a significant step toward institutionalizing the implementation of Project SARAI at the local level. Through this partnership, LGU San Miguel is expected to benefit from improved agricultural advisories and enhanced support systems for farmers, ultimately contributing to increased productivity and climate resilience in the community.

The SARAI CeNTRO Team reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with LGU San Miguel and other local government units across Central Luzon to promote smart agriculture technologies and data-driven decision-making in the region.
